Hanyi Du works as an Consultant at phiyond by adelphi at phiyond by adelphi in the field of decarbonisation. With a degree in economics and philosophy, she considers it a fundamental challenge of our time to combine economically efficient action with human values such as global justice as well as environmental and climate protection. Her focus is therefore on greenhouse gas accounting, the analysis of climate change-related business risks and opportunities, and the development of climate strategies for the private sector.
"The economy, economic efficiency and climate protection are not irreconcilable opposites for me, but are dependent on each other. There is no longer a functioning economy in an excessively heated world. However, the commitment and expertise of actors from the private sector is also essential for successful climate action. I therefore see my personal mission as not working "against" but "with" the private sector in climate protection. Together with my colleagues at adelphi, I want to support and partner with companies on their way to efficient forms of climate protection which, in the long term, will benefit both society and themselves."
