Supporting the implementation of the Mexican ETS through knowledge sharing

In January 2020, Mexico began the pilot phase of its emissions trading system (ETS), the first one in Latin America. The Mexican government has been working to develop the rules for the system in its operational phase and consulting with public and private actors on its adoption.

adelphi supported the Mexican government by providing analyses on the approaches taken in several jurisdictions with an ETS to ex-post allowance allocation adjustment based on production values, as well as on public consultation and transparency processes.
