In the course of international negotiations on a new climate protection agreement, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) was commissioned with the development and testing of innovative concepts and instruments for assessing and managing climate risks in four pilot case countries and regions. These approaches were to support Germany’s development cooperation partner countries in managing their climate risks. The experience gained should additionally contribute to the international climate dialogue in the form of expert recommendations.
Within the framework of this project adelphi was commissioned by GIZ to support the formulation of a discussion paper on the losses and damages resulting from climate change.
