adelphi in its capacity as the host institution of SEED implemented a project on sustainability entrepreneurship in Southern Africa financed by the Government of Flanders, the Federated State of Belgium, a core partner to SEED.
Between 2014 and 2015, 24 outstanding social and environmental enterprises from Malawi, Mozambique and Namibia were granted the SEED Award for sustainable entrepreneurship. The winning enterprises received a financial contribution and consulting services towards scaling up their businesses. Moreover, in the frame of a training-of-trainers seminar local experts were trained in providing targeted support to social and environmental enterprises.
A tailor-made training and mentoring programme aimed at building the capacity of conventional local entrepreneurs in Mozambique to move towards sustainable business models. Upon finalisation of the project, an external evaluation has been conducted to assess the impact of the training activities in view of optimising future projects. adelphi was responsible of the overall project coordination and the implementation of the project activities.
