Exposure visit on renewable energy for Indian experts

Indian experts from both the thermal power generation and rural electricity development sector participated in a study tour through Germany and Spain. It aimed at providing a platform to exchange opinions regarding state-of-the-art technology and implementation methods on renewable energy, specifically focusing on biomass, biogas and solar energy.

adelphi was tasked with the conceptualisation, organisation and implementation of the exposure visit. Tasks included the following: programme design; identifying and debriefing experts from Germany and Spain; organisational assistance; preparing background materials on the regulatory context and best practice cases; and facilitating expert consultations. The Indian delegation was accompanied by senior staff members from adelphi to facilitate the meetings and provide professional input.

The Indian experts appreciated the fruitful discussions and the opportunity to build new contacts and networks. Learning about best practices in Europe as well as how institutions in Germany and Spain deal with various constrains, provided valuable insight and even fuelled some ideas to apply such technologies in future projects in India.
