The aim of the network was to enable entrepreneurs from the food and garment industries, by means of targeted training courses, to produce environmentally friendly and internationally competitive products, and thus, facilitate access to new markets. Moreover, the European-Indian cooperation and strengthening of trade and business relations between India and the EU were promoted in a sustainable manner. In addition to providing training for Indian women export consultants and entrepreneurs in the export sector, this project also foresaw the actual market introduction of particularly promising products in Germany.
The "Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh" (ALEAP) is a non-profit organisation of women entrepreneurs in India that was founded in 1993 to help owners of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). To this end, the organisation provides different instruments like consultation, know-how transfer, or financing, holds regular trainings and additional education courses, and assists women entrepreneurs from making their business idea reality. adelphi managed the EU venture and assisted the entrepreneurs through training courses and coaching in India and Germany.
