Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi)
The energy transition is on the road to success: In 2015, nearly a third of energy consumed came from renewable sources. Advances have also been made in energy storage and distribution and in energy efficiency. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) is supporting a multitude of research projects relating to energy that are working on the technologies of the future, seeing to the continuation of the current trend with innovative contributions. Since 2007, all the supported projects have been compiled in a yearly publication, the “Research Yearbook”. The publication offers interested parties from the fields of research, policy, business, and society a comprehensive overview and creates incentives for further cooperation and joint research projects between research institutions and the private sector.
In 2016, the yearbook has been published for the first time with the new title “Research Yearbook Energy”, due to the inclusion of projects relating to energy efficiency, in addition to those on renewable energies. The topics covered by the yearbook range from wind energy and photovoltaics to solar, geothermal, and ocean energy, from power plant technology to fuel cells, from network integration to energy storage and power grids, all the way to energy optimized buildings and districts and energy efficiency in industry and trade.
As in the years 2012 to 2014, adelphi has taken on the entire process of creating and designing the online brochure for the year 2015. adelphi has additionally compiled all supported projects in a comprehensive online database. The database stands out because, along with general project information, it contains detailed descriptions of the research projects and a comprehensive search function offering interested parties an easy, targeted way to search through the projects. All information and data were edited barrier-free and made available online. adelphi served as the direct point of contact for the research yearbook and informed the specialist community of its publication.
