adelphi is collaborating with the UN Systems Staff College (UNSSC) to provide a dedicated Climate, Peace and Security Training to the Office of the Special Envoy for Yemen (OSESGY). The training will strengthen OSESGY’s staff skills to: 1) conduct localised climate risk assessments and integrate them into programmatic planning throughout the stages of a peacebuilding programme life-cycle; 2) Understand and analyze the risks that climate change poses to international peace and security as well as local peacebuilding interventions; 3) Analyze climate related risks through a focus on inclusion and vulnerabilities; and 4) Identify entry points and recommendations for OSESGY to engage on climate peace and security and mainstream this agenda to reinforce its mandate.
adelphi served as a subject matter expert providing advice and supporting the development of the agenda, instructional design and delivery of the online and in-person phases of the course, as well as the development of training materials and interactive exercises for the training, which were held on 6-9 November 2023 in Turin.
