Carbon pricing instruments in Latin America: current status and emerging trends

National and subnational jurisdictions in Latin America have implemented or are considering the implementation of carbon pricing instruments. As a result, jurisdictions in the region have developed valuable experiences on the rational and the process of implementing these instruments.

adelphi provided its expertise and knowledge of carbon pricing instruments in the region to support the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) in the development of a report on current status and trends of compliance carbon pricing instruments and voluntary carbon markets in the region.

The report was presented by the Inter-American Development Bank in October 2021.
