GIZ Project Evaluation - Sector Programme on Peace and Security, Disaster Risk Management

The Sector Programme on Peace and Security, Disaster Risk Management of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) supports the peace and security, disaster risk management division of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The focus of the work of the sector programme for the current phase has been on the implementation of the BMZ strategy paper "Development for Peace and Security", adopted in 2013.

To conclude the current phase of the programme and determine a new strategic orientation, a project evaluation and an examination of a follow-up measure were carried out on behalf of GIZ, with the support of adelphi. The focus of adelphi’s work was on the subject of disaster risk management and possible linkages between disaster risk management and the areas of peace and security as well as climate change adaptation.
