InWEnt starts this year’s International Business Forum series with the symposium "Investment Climate for Climate Investment - fostering business dynamics and inclusive low carbon growth" from 1-2 December 2010 in New Delhi, India.
As part of the programme "Dialogue with business about climate change and poverty reduction" InWEnt is launching a three-year dialogue series focusing on different environmental issues, implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. This multi-stakeholder dialogue offers a platform for representatives from business, government and civil society to raise awareness for the contribution of business to sustainable solutions for poverty reduction and to a climate-friendly economy. Given the enormous challenges in technology development and transfer, and investment, which need to be undertaken to a large extent by the private sector, ways to enhance the private sector engagement will be discussed.
adelphi is supporting InWEnt in coordinating and organising the lead-up event, in cooperation with the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII-ITC), the World Bank Institute, the Confederation of German Industry (BDI), and econsense. The event will take place alongside the 5th Sustainability Summit: Asia 2010, hosted by the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development. The conference will host representatives from local and regional business and industry, business associations, governments, national and international financial institutions as well as civil society and academia.
