adelphi provided a two-day „Train the trainers“ capacity building workshop on energy-efficiency financing in Munich. Amongst others, a delegation from Cyprus participated.
Personnel of the Energy and Environment Division of the Cyprus Federation of Employers & Industrialists (OEB) attended a two-day capacity-building workshop on climate finance tools in Munich, Germany. The training was held within the framework of implementation of the Business4Climate + project, which is funded by EUKI. adelphi hosted the workshop.
The training presented a toolbox with innovative methods and techniques for the development of financial tools and creation incentives for businesses. The aim is to implement energy efficiency projects and projects that contribute generally to tackling climate change and lowering emissions.
adelphi developed the training methodology. The methodology addresses two key stakeholder groups: banking institutions to develop financial products for small and medium-sized businesses and government departments to develop financial support schemes. The tools aim to improve the knowledge and skill set of staff working in banking institutions and government departments in developing appropriate financing tools and plans. The specificities of energy efficiency projects as well as the political and economic conditions in Cyprus were taken into account.
Executives from banking institutions and the public sector of Cyprus will have the opportunity to participate in a similar Skills Development workshop to be held in Nicosia in early April. This workshop will be jointly organised by OEB and adelphi Research. More information will be announced shortly.
The training is financially supported by the Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) as part of the European Climate Protection Initiative (EUKI).
