Vulnerability assessment of Djerba: Inception phase

GIZ offered its support to Tunisia in its work to develop a territorial climate change adaptation strategy for the island of Djerba. Special attention was given to water, agriculture, tourism and coastal protection, as these sectors are particularly affected by changes to the climate.

To kick off the project, GIZ invited local stakeholders and experts to a workshop. The objective of the meeting was to identify focus areas for a vulnerability analysis of Djerba and to plan further steps. As key methodological input, adelphi presented various approaches, opportunities and challenges often encountered during vulnerability assessments and used its expertise to contribute to the discussion as to which issues and topics the vulnerability analysis of Djerba could cover.
