Maia Hall is a Consultant at adelphi – working in carbon pricing and broader climate policy. She is also part of the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) team, an intergovernmental global forum for facilitating experience and knowledge-sharing on the design and implementation of emissions trading systems. Maia’s focus has largely been on the development of carbon markets as a response to climate change in the Asia-Pacific region as well as communicating the work of adelphi and ICAP to make it accessible to a broader audience.
“Climate change isn’t waiting for anyone. Carbon pricing – at the nexus of politics, economics, and environmental policy – I believe is one of the only realistic ways we can push the biggest emitters to change their behavior at enough pace, by giving them the economic incentive to do so. As a policy instrument, carbon pricing is so dynamic and can be tailored to all sorts of contexts, and I’m excited to be able to contribute to these developments through my work at adelphi.”
