This article describes the challenges of green business development services for small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries and emerging economies. Its challenges stem, among others, from the need to design these development services according to specific demands - and to build or support structures that facilitate their implementation effectively, e.g. via local chambers or consultancies. Green business development services are part of the German Development Cooperation in the field of Green Economy. In order to demonstrate how these challenges can me be met, this article draws on experiences from climate adaptation consultancy in India.
