InWEnt - Capacity Building International
Many supplying companies in developing countries are under pressure from their global buyers to improve their social and environmental performance. Small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) often find it especially difficult to respond to environmental and social requirements, due to lack of access to information and limited capacity to assess their performance against international benchmarks and norms. This in turn means that SMEs are often unaware of the cost advantages and/or financial savings to be gained from the introduction of measures to improve environmental and social performance.
This project aims to position SMEs of the Indian automotive component industry to adopt sustainability standards that fulfil requirements of global customers and provide for productivity gains. The project is implemented by adelphi in cooperation with three European and one Indian partner.
