Because of its geographical location, the topic of climate change is a very urgent issue for India. The delayed and shortened monsoon of this year even has brought attention to the issue. So far, enterprises in India are applying reactive adaptation measures to cope with climate change like air conditioning systems to regulate the temperatures within production facilities.
The adelphi-workshop was arranged to enable capacity building of small and medium size enterprises as well as to ensure that the climate adaptation tools developed by Adelphi were relevant and easy to use. Interviews with entrepreneurs served as the basis for improvements. Also, the tools are tested within small and medium size enterprises. Resulting experiences will be included into a case study of adelphi which illustrates the tools and its advantages.
The workshop is part of a larger project about the impacts of climate change on the private sector in India, especially SME’s, conducted by adelphi on behalf of the German society for International Cooperation.
