Bianca Reichel is a Senior Advisor in the areas of climate adaptation and vulnerability. With her many years of professional experience as a consultant and senior project manager, she contributes her technical and methodical know-how for the improvement and application of adaptation instruments at federal and municipal levels as well as internationally.
In her twelve year career, Bianca has worked on climate adaptation and decentralisation in international development cooperation. She led programs, projects and studies for international clients such as KfW, World Bank, GIZ, IFRC and UN organizations. For six years Bianca played a key role in pilot studies and projects on nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based adaptation in the context of urban climate resilience in Mozambique.
Bianca’s competencies lie in monitoring and evaluation instruments, impact analyses, policy assessments and participatory survey methods. Bianca is Capacity WORKS certified. Her international experience includes countries in southern Africa as well as the Portuguese-speaking world.
Before joining adelphi, Bianca worked at CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter as a senior project manager. She began her professional career at the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as a junior specialist for monitoring and evaluation in a decentralisation project in Mozambique. Bianca then worked as an independent consultant for monitoring and evaluation in the field of disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation in southern Africa.
Bianca completed her Master of Arts in Development Management at the University of Manchester. Prior to that she studied European Studies (BA) at the University of Passau.
